PERAN PENDIDIKAN AL-ISLAM DAN KEMUHAMMADIYAHAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PERILAKU KEBERAGAMAAN MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH GRESIK
Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh Pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan menjadi kekuatan Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah karena dapat menjadi basis kekuatan spiritual, moral, dan intelektual bagi seluruh civitas akademika. Namun pada kenyataannya belum banyak Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah yang dapat mengimplementasikan cita-cita luhur tersebut. Begitu pula yang terjadi di Universitas
Muhammadiyah Gresik, yang secara intelektual, dapat mencetak mahasiswa yang profesional di bidangnya, namun dalam mewujudkan misi utama Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah, yakni dengan pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dapat menjadi basis kekuatan spiritual atau keagamaan dan moral bagi seluruh civitas akademika tidak berjalan dengan baik, sehingga kenyataan inilah yang mendorong penulis untuk mengetahui sejauh mana peran pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dalam meningkatkan perilaku keberagamaan mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pelaksanan pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, serta mengetahui peran pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dalam meningkatkan perilaku keberagamaan mahasisiwa Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan informasi menerapkan
teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan memiliki peran dalam meningkatkan perilaku keberagamaan mahasisiwa Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik berupa sikap ta’awun, mempraktekkan ibadah seperti; salat berjamaah di masjid dan do’ado’a dalam sehari-hari, perilaku akhlakul karimah, dan kedisiplinan dalam menjalankan perkuliahan. Pembiasaan yang dilakukan mereka dapat membekas dan dilaksanakannya tanpa paksaan dan dilakukan dari sebuah kesadaran namun juga bisa tidak membekas bila tidak dilakukan secara konsisten dan berkesinambungan. Oleh karenanya, pendidikan Al- Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan harus dilaksanakan secara terpadu dan konsisten.
