This study aims to examine the effect of reflective thinking on the understanding of Natural Science (IPA) concepts in grade 5 Elementary School students. The problem underlying this study is the low understanding of students on IPA material due to the lack of implementation of learning strategies that encourage in-depth thinking processes. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through observation of student learning activities and interviews with class teachers in three Public Elementary Schools. The results of the study indicate that the application of reflective thinking strategies in science learning has a positive impact on improving student understanding. Students who are actively involved in the reflection process show better abilities in connecting concepts with real experiences, re-explaining the material in their own words, and showing improvements in answering conceptual questions. Teachers also admit that reflection helps students be more focused and critical during the learning process. These findings indicate that reflective thinking strategies can be an effective approach in improving the quality of science learning at the Elementary School level.
