Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Teams Game Tournament learning model to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics in the material of picture patterns and numbers of grade III students of UPT SDN 49 Gresik. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research design uses the Kimmis and Mc Taggart model. The improvement in mathematics learning outcomes through the use of the TGT model was proven when the pre-action average class score was 61.53 with a percentage of student completion of only 30.76%. In cycle I after using the TGT model, the class average rose to 75 with a percentage of completion of 65.38% of students. In cycle II after using the TGT model and being subjected to improvements, the average rose to 83.84 with a percentage of completion of 84.61%. Mathematics learning through the use of the TGT model can create more active learning activities, students become more confident, and enthusiastic in learning.
