The Qur’an tartil recitation competition is a religious educational activity aimed at improving students’ ability to recite the Qur’an correctly in accordance with the rules of tajwid. This activity was conducted at TPA Al Ikhlas Ngembung as an effort to develop students’ Qur’anic recitation skills and foster a love for the Qur’an from an early age. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, competition, and assessment by a panel of judges. The preparation stage involved coordination with TPA administrators, participant registration, and the establishment of assessment criteria. During the competition, each participant was given the opportunity to recite selected verses of the Qur’an in a tartil manner before the judges and audience. The assessment focused on several aspects, including tajwid accuracy, correct pronunciation of Arabic letters (makhraj), recitation fluency, and proper etiquette when reciting the Qur’an. The results indicated that the tartil competition had a positive educational impact on the students. Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and made efforts to deliver their best recitations. Furthermore, the activity increased their motivation to learn the Qur’an, enhanced their confidence in reciting it in public, and helped teachers assess students’ recitation abilities. Therefore, the Qur’an tartil recitation competition can serve as an effective educational activity for improving Qur’anic recitation skills and strengthening religious education at the TPA level. It also encourages community participation and fosters a positive learning environment that supports children's religious development in the local community sustainably.
