IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INFORMATION SYSTEM TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF COFFEE CULTIVATION AS A LEADING COMMODITY IN KAMBINGAN VILLAGE AND DIGITALIZATION OF SCHOOL INFORMATION THROUGH THE SCHOOL WEBSITE

Abstract

The development of information technology has created opportunities to utilize simple web-based systems to support community empowerment and educational information services. This activity was conducted in Kambingan Village, Cerme District, Gresik Regency, East Java Province, by Community Service Program (KKN) Group 33 from January 23 to April 23, 2026. The program consisted of two main activities. The first activity focused on supporting the development of Liberica coffee cultivation as a new village commodity through the development of the website liberikakambingan.my.id, the preparation of printed cultivation guides, socialization activities, and the distribution of 44 coffee seedlings to 22 residents of Kambingan Village. The second activity focused on digitizing school information through the development of the website midarunnajah.sch.id for MI Darun Najah Karangan. The school website contains the school profile, vision and mission, programs, extracurricular activities, student achievement news, announcements, and basic online student admission information. The implementation method included observation, needs identification, content preparation, website development, socialization, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the coffee program provided not only physical assistance in the form of seedlings but also digital and printed information media to help the community understand coffee planting and seedling maintenance. Meanwhile, the school website served as an initial step toward establishing a digital presence for MI Darun Najah, making school information more accessible to prospective students' parents and the wider community. This activity demonstrates that simple information systems can support the development of village potential while improving the effectiveness of school information services.
