Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in developing children's religious character through daily prayer habits in An-Najah Kindergarten Group B. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with one teacher as an informant who was selected purposively. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The results showed that teachers act as facilitators, guides, motivators, and role models in the daily prayer habits through activities such as reciting prayers, Dhuha prayers, reading the Quran, and repeated memorization integrated into daily activities. Teachers also involve parents to strengthen these habits at home. These habits contribute to the development of children's religious character, which is manifested through the ability to memorize and instill prayers as well as the emergence of discipline, responsibility, and adherence to religious values. The success of this program is supported by the role of teachers, parental involvement, and the religious environment, while obstacles include differences in child characteristics and limited teaching staff. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between teachers, families, and schools in developing the religious character of early childhood.
