Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that primarily affects the joints and may cause long-term disability, especially in the elderly. This study aimed to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and lifestyle with the incidence of RA among elderly people in Slaharwotan Village. This research used an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 35 elderly people were selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a lifestyle questionnaire and direct anthropometric measurements, then analyzed using binary logistic regression. The results showed a significant relationship between BMI and RA (p = 0.029) as well as between lifestyle and RA (p = 0.037). The model had a Nagelkerke R² of 0.266, and the Hosmer and Lemeshow test yielded p = 0.927, indicating good model fit. In conclusion, BMI and lifestyle are influencing factors in the incidence of RA among the elderly. Education and community-based prevention programs targeting healthy weight and lifestyle habits are needed.
