Abstract

Background – Material logistics management is a crucial factor in supporting the smooth running of
construction projects. CV. Duta Haddad Jaya continues to face challenges in material logistics management, such as procurement delays, inconsistencies between stock records and the physical condition of materials, and delays in distribution to project sites. These conditions indicate problems in the implementation of material logistics management that have the potential to hinder operational effectiveness and the smooth running of construction projects. Therefore, an analysis is needed to identify these obstacles and possible improvements for the company.
Objective – This study aims to analyze material logistics management and identify these obstacles and improvements at CV. Duta Haddad Jaya.
Design / Methodology / Approach – This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method at
CV. Duta Haddad Jaya. Data were obtained through structured interviews, observation, and documentation with informants consisting of operational managers, warehouse supervisors, and logistics administration staff. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using triangulation techniques to test data validity.
Findings – The results of the study indicate that material logistics management at CV. Duta Haddad Jaya has implemented requirements planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory control for materials. However, challenges persist, including delays in material procurement and distribution, inconsistencies in stock data, and suboptimal coordination. To address these challenges, the company has implemented improvements through the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), periodic stocktaking, improved coordination with suppliers, and strengthening the logistics administration system.
Research Implication – The results of this study emphasize the importance of effective material logistics management to support the smooth implementation of construction projects. These findings contribute to the development of material logistics management studies, particularly in improving the effectiveness of material management in construction service companies.
Limitations – This research was conducted solely at CV. Duta Haddad Jaya and focused on material logistics management in construction projects. Therefore, the results cannot be broadly generalized. Future research is recommended to examine more diverse subjects and employ different research methods to enrich the findings.
