Pemberdayaan Masyarakat PKS 6 Sukadana dalam Mewujudkan Pertanian Berkelanjutan

Abstract

Purpose - The objective of this activity is to analyze the potential of oil palm waste and its utilization in the community service program at Sukadana Palm Oil Mill 6 during the period January–December 2025.

Design/Methodology/Approach - This series of community service activities began with a participatory approach, through analysis of factory production data and implementation of community empowerment activities in the form of composting training, technical assistance, and distribution of oil palm waste to farmers.

Findings – The results of this service indicate that the total net FFB production reached 154,961,597 kg, with oil palm waste accounting for 37,877,380 kg (23%). Of this amount, 5,984,500 kg was utilized as compost, and 1,112,200 kg was distributed directly to the community. These results are important because they demonstrate that waste that previously had the potential to pollute the environment can be converted into a valuable resource, providing tangible benefits in the form of increased soil fertility and savings in fertilizer costs for the community.

Originality/Value - Community service programs based on the utilization of oil palm waste are effective in reducing industrial waste while increasing economic value and environmental sustainability, although optimization of the scale of utilization is still needed.
