Bakri Soamole, 2026. (The Effect of the Working Environment on Employee Performance and Work Motivation as an Intervening Variable (in the Sub-district Administration of West Halmahera Regency)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the work environment on employee performance, with work motivation as an intervening variable. The population consists of employees of the General Affairs Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of North Maluku Province. The sample comprised 102 respondents. The analysis technique employed was structural equation modelling (SEM) using the partial least squares (PLS) statistical test. The results of the study indicate that: The work environment has a positive effect on employee performance. The work environment has a positive effect on work motivation. Work motivation has a positive effect on employee performance. Work motivation acts as a positive intervening variable in the relationship between the work environment and employee performance at the sub-district government office in West Halmahera Regency.
